Well it's been quite a long week in Olomouc. We've been doing double lectures because we were getting behind and there really isn't that many class periods left. So this week we did class from 8:30 am - 4 pm. I honestly felt like I was in elementary/high school again, I wasn't a fan.

Anyway other than our adventure Saturday with some Canadian hockey players and their awesome parents, we've had a pretty chill Easter Break. Starting on Saturday Katie and I decided to ride the tram all the way to the other side of town (aka the train station) and walk/wander back. We found some very interesting shops, however the one we really wanted to get to was closed by the time we got to it. Disappointed we improvised and decided to head to one of our favorite restaurants and get our favorite salad. When we got there Katie noticed two tables of adults speaking English and wearing Canadian attire. Of course immediately I was like, "Oh my gosh we should talk to them!" but before we could even say anything the ladies had turned to us and asked where we were from. We chit chatted for a bit and they were telling us their sons are traveling playing hockey. Then somehow we got the idea it would be really fun to go watch their afternoon game. The rink where they were playing however wasn't in Olomouc and entailed a 15 minute bus ride. That didn't matter though, Katie and I were in. The looks on the boys' faces when we walked up with their parents and told them we were coming to watch them play was priceless. So we walked back to their hotel with them and hoped on their bus. The game was great and the boys tied a Czech hockey team 2-2.

After the game and a lost hour long walk to their hotel we took them to one of our favorite bars in Olomouc called The Crack. The boys weren't getting served there however so we took them to another bar, and we all had a great time talking and getting to know some individuals from the north. They were very hospitable and in return for their generosity Katie and I hope to get them a couple Nebraska vs. Michigan football tickets, as they are die hard Michigan fans...(don't worry we will change that!).

For Easter Sunday the few individuals that didn't go to Budapest this weekend (Ann, Tara, Caleb, Katie, Dr. Clark and I) went to Easter mass at a famous Catholic church in Olomouc. I apologize I'm not sure on the name of it as I don't pay too close attention to the Catholic churches. Anyway it was great, other than feeling like I was being sworn into some kind of colt or something, the music was great and I actually knew the words to a couple songs. After church we took a trip to Globus and got food to make an Easter supper. With the use of Dr. Clark's oven and utensils we were able to make a wonderful ham, red potatoes, peppers, corn, and bread meal. And of course some great wine. While everything was cooking we played pitch...well I should say I attempted to play pitch. I'm still not very good at that game.

Monday was full of laundry, blogging, shopping and preparing for our two week trip to Vienna, Venice, Rome, Barcelona, and Paris. I probably won't get a blog done until we return around the 23rd, but I will be keeping a journal of our adventures (as most of the time with Katie and I we always end up having some crazy ones) so I can share them with you when I return. Once we get back we will also be preparing our "American Party" at Belmondo, a club here in Olomouc. If you have any suggestions on pure American food we can prepare for the party please leave a comment. My roommate from Portugal asked what we would be serving and asked if it was just going to be McDonald's food. Although that sounds about right we want to give them a little bit more of good American food so we aren't leaving them with a "McDonald's" impression. Also if I have time I might just upload some photos of our adventures for everyone to see.
